I hate to say it, but Jacob was right. This book really is the best present my grandparents ever gave me. I was expecting to find another pair of Gran's mittens when I opened the box, so it was nice to get this instead. I've missed keeping a journal. I don't know why I stopped writing in my old one. I probably ran out of pages. Either that, or I finally grew tired of hiding it from my sisters. I don't know why--
Jacob just looked over my shoulder and told me to stop being boring. He can be so rude sometimes. I don't know what he expects me to say. Our holiday has been really quiet so far. I'm actually looking forward to getting back to school. I'd forgotten how loud Maria is when she snores. I hope Uncle Bernard goes home soon, so I can sleep on the couch tonight. Maybe then I can actually get a good night's rest.
